This was created specifically for display at at the Aberdeen Country Club by Frank Ashford. According to accounts, it was hung above the fire place in the ballroom. It was a companion piece to Woman at Piano, which also hung at the Club.  It was donated to the public library by the Country Club who had both paintings in storage for years because they were “out of date.” It is signed Ashford and the date is not known. The size is approximately 28″ x 36″. (The colors of this photograph are probably more saturated than the original, aged painting. It is currently on display at the K.O. Lee Aberdeen Public Library in Aberdeen, SD.
