This painting is part of the permanent collection of the Dacotah Prairie Museum in downtown Aberdeen, South Dakota. Frank Ashford painted this in 1927, presumably from a photograph. The plate on the photo says, Ole A. Swanson, 1856-1926, Pioneer Farmer Legislator, Civic Leader, Business Man. It is not known why this painting was done and why it never went to Ole’s family. Size 36 x 30 and is signed F.C. Ashford 1927.
