Red boat on a River

This was donated to the Dacotah Prairie Museum (Aberdeen, SD) in 2024 by Ginny Topping from Oregon. Ginny (Virginia) was a niece of Frank’s and passed away in 2024. There are no specific details known about this painting. Because it came from the West Coast, we assume the scene is from there. But it could also be a scene on the Jim River near Frank Ashford’s South Dakota family farm. It is similar to another river view scene called, River Shore and Boat. It is a very small painting, about 10 x 12 inches. This is featured with permission from the Dacotah Prairie Museum.
